Webinar: Discussion with President Niinistö about preparedness and the current security policy situation

EuroDefense Finland invites you to a webinar with President Sauli Niinistö on 23 February

We have the pleasure of discussing with President Sauli Niinistö the EU report (Safer Together – Strengthening Europe’s Civilian and Military Preparedness and Readiness) published in 2024, in which he presents concrete steps to strengthen the EU’s civilian and defence preparedness.

In particular, we will discuss what a “readiness union” means in practice and how risk analysis, crisis management and civil-military cooperation should be organised in the new security environment.

We will also examine the current transformation of international politics and ask: what do Finland and Europe need to do now to ensure that decision-making, security of supply, defence and deterrence continue to work in the future?

The webinar will take place on 23 February at 15-16 EET. It will be moderated by Dr Valtteri Vuorisalo, strategic advisor to EuroDefense Finland and Professor of Practice at Tampere University.
